Dr, McCobb Dr. Robert MCcobb

Our Story

Dr. Robert McCobb was compassionate leader who had a heart for helping young boys in need. He witnessed firsthand the struggles of many boys in Los Angeles who lacked a stable home. He decided to create a safe haven for these boys – a warm and loving home where they could find solace and support.

Dr. McCobb's dream began to take shape as he established the "McCobb Ministries Home for Boys." Over the years, the home grew, welcoming more and more boys seeking refuge and guidance. The boys flourished under Dr. McCobb's care, growing into responsible and caring young men. Grateful for the love and guidance they had received, some of these young men, now adults, decided to join Dr. McCobb in his mission to improve the lives of others.

Together, they rallied around Dr. McCobb's vision, seeking to enhance the quality of life for the boys in their care. One pressing concern was the nutritional aspect of the home – they wanted to provide healthier, more nourishing meals for the boys. Recognizing the importance of a balanced diet, they decided to reach out to nearby small businesses for donations of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Their appeal for support was met with an overwhelming response from the generous community. The surplus produce they received was more than enough to feed the boys in the home, prompting an inspiring idea. They decided to share the abundance with their neighbors in need, creating what soon became known as the "Christian Food Center."

For nearly 30 years, the Christian Food Center thrived, offering nourishment to both the boys in the home and the community at large. It became a beacon of hope, symbolizing the impact that kindness and unity can have on a community. As time passed, the boys who once sought refuge at McCobb Ministies Home for Boys, they grew into dedicated individuals, each carrying forward the values and principles instilled in them by Dr. Robert McCobb.

One of these young men, is Rigoberto Martinez, he was particularly inspired by the legacy of his friend and mentor, Dr. McCobb. Touched by the immense impact that the Christian Food Center had on the community, he decided to continue the noble work that Dr. McCobb had started. Mr. Martinez took it upon himself to ensure that Mr. McCobb's legacy lived on, dedicating his life to caring for those in need and spreading the message of faith and compassion.

And so, the torch of Dr. McCobb and the ripple effect of his compassionate acts continue, touching the lives of many people and shaping a community built on compassion, faith, and the desire to better our community through Mr. Martinez.
